Paul Bablet (1889-1971)

Rare Art Deco Silver and Gold Ring, Circa 1930

The signature engraved (Image 3) and wears the poinçon d’orfèvre. Size 53 (6 1/2)

The Ring was created around 1930, and it is a rare item left of the Paul Bablet production.

Paul Bablet is modern in his use of silver preferred to any other metal and a decorative register based on combinations of pure lines, simple twists, like twisted gold lines on our ring. Paul Bablet is an important avant-garde artist, present at the salons of the decorating artists in Paris between 1914 and 1929, at the autumn show in Paris from 1913 to 1933. He also participated in the international exhibition of decorative arts of 1925. In 1941, the jeweler is present at the MAD Paris exhibition, alongside the greatest modern jewelers, such as René Robert, Jean Després and Raymond Templier. This ring, besides its beautiful and easily wearable design, is a rare exemplar of Bablet Art Deco work, and would be an important piece for a collector or a museum collection.
